17/11/09 - Ngong Ping 360 & Village / The Great Buddha / Po Lin Monastry/ The Peak / Yung Kee Roasted Dinner / Lan Kwai Fong

The next day we ate complimentary breakfast at hotel.. nothing much... kinda sucks.. but we ate it for 2 days continuous... and we realise they didnt change their menu... so we missed two days of complimentary breakfast.. Hong Kong breakfasts cost around HK18-30 ($3.50-5)....

It was the start of winter for Hong Kong... cool breeze for continuous 2 days.... Temperature ranges from 11C - 15C. Its much colder actually... When we were in Tokyo, temperatures was like 5C - 12C in Kawaguchiko... rest of the days were like 13C - 20C... Anyway, wad we heard was it was 5C down at Ngong Ping tat day... from hearsay... but wad we saw indoors was 9C at the entrance of one of the enclosed area.

Oh ya... we took MTR to Tung Chung Station... Went to Ngong Ping 360 & Village... Anyway, wah.. as usual.. the Falunggong protestors putting up their protest posters below Ngong Ping Village.. china people cant protest in China so come Hong Kong protest... making Hong Kong unsightly... Zzz... -_-"

We bought the tickets for the crystal cabin... HK219 ($40) instead of the traditional cabin... paid HK60 ($11) more... but we got a better deal... the standard cabin 10 person squeeze into one gondola.. for us its only two of us in the cabin.. and we need not wait 30 mins for the cabin... all we did was to wait for the next crystal cabin to come... wich was less than 3 mins... so its a lot a lot more worth it... given that you can really see 360degrees of view instead of the covered up bottom view.... The admission also included the two shows.... one of wich, the monkey theatre wasnt good at all...

The cable car ride was about 20 mins one way... quite nice.. see Lantau Island.. the airport and all... reached Ngong Ping village after the cable car ride... den walked towards the Great Buddha, Po Lin Monastry... quite nice view of Buddha, huh? Can look around and see more of Lantau Island..

We then walked down and went to eat vegetarian... wich is like a norm for HongKongers... u always hear them saying tat in TVB drama rite? LOL... The meal is about HK60 ($11) a person.... food wise was above average... standard meal.. lol....

We then took the MTR to HONG KONG station.. lol...then we walked towards the Central Ferry Terminal and took open-top First Bus 15C to Lower Peak Terminus to take the Peak Tram... scenic ride on the peak tram... as usual a lot of people... but there is always confusion over there and if you can speak english.... you get priority ... those china people dunno do wad stuck there de... i guess they are group tours....
free and easy get priority.. lol...

as usual the hateful china people.. rush for the tram... and tsian and i couldnt sit together... they jump queue and stuff... no wonder they always get second priority in hong kong.... making the tram congested and cramp up the hill... thankfully our return trip was nice... no china people.... a lot of seats...

Reached the Peak liao... we bought tickets to the Sky Terrace, Madame Tussauds Museum and The Peak Tram promotional tickets at HK190 ($34) ... was a perfect day as we got a perfect view of Hong Kong at the Sky Terrace as there was no haze, wich is pretty common when their weather is hotter....

We went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum after tat... Kinda sucky in there because there was a group of stupid china tourists... tat walk pass u and destroy ur picture when u are taking photos...irritating.... had a lot of NG shots there... almost want to kill those china pumpkins... cant they queue up and take photos..!!!! always jumping in to take pictures...

We ended up missing some shots of some celebrities.. thankfully they go for china celebrities... so we didnt have much problem... as we dun even know most of them.. but for obama, bush, clinton and all tat.. they love taking photos of them... pretty irritating.. have to fight with those stupid china people to take snapshots... we waited there for 20 mins so tat those pumpkins can go away and we can take the photos properly... thankfully they left and the whole museum was peaceful once again without those CHINA PEOPLE.

Anyways, its quite good in there... can take photos of celebrities... worth going in once...

Went down the Peak after tat... We headed down to Lan Kwai Fong area for Yung Kee Roasted.. its just a street away from Lan Kwai Fong actually.. For our long awaited Yung Kee Roasted Meal.. lol... costs HK550 ($100) per person... but it was a great meal... we had sharks fin's.... abalone.... fried rice..prawns..their famous century eggs....egg tart and mango pudding... and OF COURSE THEIR ROASTED DUCK!!! Darn nice... Above average... quite nice. the whole meal was good overall.. and we did not regret waiting 30 mins to get in to the restaurant... u can do online reservation to avoid waiting...

Saw the trams on our walk from Lan Kwai Fong to Central Ferry.. but we will be taking the trams some other days... and we took their Star Ferry back to Kowloon Island where our hotel is...
