Singapore (21 Nov - 29 Nov)

Back in Singapore for more than a week liao..

Have been busy recently... Blogging, loading pictures to my computer and developing the photos..

Celebrated Peizhen's belated belated birthday last week with JWJW...

We went to watch 2012 at Plaza Singapura... Nice movie. I give it 8.5/10. Its a 2.5 hour movie.... pretty worth it... Its quite nice... the graphics and all... and the mixed feelings and reactions of people when they know they are going to die... can be quite touching at some parts ... =) the story plot was good too..

Anyway, regarding 2012, this is what I would say. Even if the world ends at 2012, we must live up to that day and enjoy ourselves right? Rather than commit suicide and all.... We must, instead, live life to the fullest and treasure everyone around us! =)

Dinner was at Ichiban Sushi... Ordered a beef set to eat .. quite good... i give it 7/10.....

Sembawang's closing down after so many years in Singapore.... it was its last day of operations and they have a sale of 75% on all your discs.... many were looking for CDs that they missed buying in the past...

we also went in to search for CDs.. bought 4 of them at $13 only!!! Original somemore! LOL... we shopped until we became their last customer...

Met up with Pengyong ytd to watch the movie Mulan... Story plot kind of expected.. good to go ... good to watch... but ordinary.. nothing too unexpected.... give it 6/10.

We had crystal jade for lunch ... with my $8 voucher and also dinner was at manhattan fish market... its fish n chips... =)

10/11/09 - Flying Day

Flew the whole day on 10 November... Woke up early for my flight to Tokyo Narita Airport transit via Hong Kong. Met Tsian Hwee at the airport and we departed Singapore at 10am.

Just 5 minutes after takeoff and we can see clouds all over the skies from our window seats!!!! COOL....

OMG... The Hong Kong aunties in front of us are damn noisy.... NO PEACE! LOL..

Lunch was Chicken Rice.... Quite good. Above Average.

4 hours and we arrived at Hong Kong Airport at about 230pm. The view was perfect before landing at HKIA. It was like a 15 minute landing down and we can see the full view of Tsing Ma Bridge and Lantau Island just before we landed... COOL!

Dinner was Beef with Vermicelli... Taste weird.... just average. The whole plane was DAMN QUIET! from Hong Kong to Japan.... We feel like we are at the cemetry.... noone was talking.... everyone is reading. freaks you out when you have to whisper to the one next to you as everybody will be looking at you if you were talking..

oh btw... the flight was pretty empty.... about 40-50 seats empty, in contrast with the full flight from Singapore to Hong Kong.

Many locals on the plane... mostly Japanese.. Guess nobody wants to get infected with H1N1... (H1N1 at its peak in Japan, with few hundred thousand cases in Japan and still spreading) .... so nobody's going to Japan, unlike me and Tsian Hwee! LOL...

Departed from Hong Kong after an hour and we finally arrived at Tokyo Narita at about 8pm! OMG! Its drizzling and we had to carry our luggage... getting all drenched up by the time we reached our hotel... that is 20 minutes away from the train station.

11/11/09 - Sensoji Temple / Ameyoko / Shibuya

Woke up in horror... Its still drizzling.. OMG! No choice we had to change our initial plan, which is to go to Disneyland as it was drizzling.... Zzz...

Reached Sensoji at Asakusa area.... nothing much... juz take picture of the temple lor.... and it was raining... we had to get ourselves drenched up for the photos... cos an umbrella would cover the temple up... a lot of people only.... and it was 20C... felt too hot to wear a jacket.. though everyone is wearing... and den... i tink my t-shirt is too thick... dun feel water coming in to my body...

Den there's this place you can pay 100 yen and then pick up your fortune... den they will curse you... see how bad your fortune is... so you can buy a souvenior to protect yourself afterwards.. as me and tsianhwee realise.. cos.. both of us got extreme bad luck.. and we see their students buying lucky charms after supposedly being "cursed"....

their food street nothing much... some substandard mochi and also kids "kueh" we eat here.. selling at $2 - $3 a piece... -_-" .... or fancy for some red bean bun that costs $3 - $4 a piece where we can get at $0.50 here... =X

Visited Ameyayoko.... a food street... omg... doesnt seem like leh... went to a shop to buy japanese food products... OMG... all of their things can see cannot buy... its too expensive liao... their snacks start from like $8 per packet.... where we can usually buy from $4.... about 2 times from us... OMG... Lots of mochi etc....

Around 1pm le... i see this turkish meat stall and decided to eat one of their turkish meat roll... den we finally settled in for a ramen lunch.... ordinary ramen.. at 1000 yen ($17) overall i suppose... soup base slightly richer den those in singapore... den nothing more liao.... Bought a lot of snacks.. so we went back to the hotel to put our things... omg... and raining somemore...

Then we headed to Shibuya at night... OMG... so many people.... -_-" ... and its raining..... nice lighting to see everywhere.. and the horrible 5 way human cross junction... think 5,000 people cross this junction within 30 seconds... and there are so many people... they keep knocking onto your umbrella..

guess they are also not used to taking umbrella... knock you everywhere you go... -_-" ... Walked up all the way to their NHK studio.... kinda disappointing.... just see some posters of NHK's past..... get to see some of their "live" TV recording... but cant take pictures of it.... den some pictures to take...

At night, settled down at Denny's for dinner... OMG... this meal.. i quite hate it... though is i suggest de... tink its also about 1000 yen.... the rice i had was extremely salty.. the dessert was okay.... soso only... Walked around Shibuya.. den end day liao...

Oh ya ... the T-shaped Rockmelon which we saw at their supermarket... its 1,580 yen per fruit ($25 only)... quite cheap... consider that if you buy one japanese rockmelon in Singapore you would probably pay about $80 for the same fruit....
