16/11/09 - Tokyo (Narita Airport) & Hong Kong (Kowloon - Ladies Market)

One thing bad about going to Japan yourself, people do not speak english. I guess 6 in 10 understand few words... and probably 1 in 10 understand the language well enough.... so you will be like someone who is mute trying to communicate.. -_-" ... Pretty horrible... Seems like we went there to spend money only... and wallet gets heavy if you don't control your coins well enuff... cos they have 500 yen ($8) coins.... and the most horrible thing i see is that tokyo is pretty much a CASH ONLY soceity... most restaurants and shops do not accept credit cards .. even if they do, its usually UnionPay or JCB.... no visa/no masters....

The last meal we had in Tokyo was MacDonalds at the Airport... pretty much the same like ours.. just tat one set is about 700 yen ($11).... almost twice that of Singapore's $6 value meal. But thank god you can point... no need to say anything..

1st day in Hong Kong. Reached Hong Kong at around 7 plus after our flight from Tokyo. Had chicken rice for dinner... I wonder why... but the food for the Tokyo-Hong Kong route doesnt taste as good as the Singapore-Hong Kong route..

My 3rd visit to Hong Kong ... lol.. The 1st thing we did was to buy an Octopus Card at HK150 ($27) at the airport so that we can travel around hong kong just by tapping, just like our ezlink card here..

The 1st thing we took was A21, the Cityflyer bus service that brings us from Airport to our hotel. We almost missed our bus stop.... LOL... thankfully we saw on time and alighted ... if not we might have to walk 20 mins like tat liao.. lol. our hotel at some ulu ulu street from main street.. we were scared of getting lost... but luck came in.... its in front of us after a turn from the main street.

Without further ado, after checking-in,... we walked up nathan road.. and headed towards mongkok direction.... we passed by a egg dessert pudding.... and walked in... lol.. quite ex leh.. HK25-30 ($4.50-$5.50) for one... can get one in Singapore at $2.50-$3.... lol... Taste is stronger.. but ok lah... can give it a try if you go Hong Kong next time.. =) its actually more of a Macau dessert.

After making a few turns we arrived at Ladies Market.. a tourist street.. nothing much to Singaporeans.... its like their pasar malam.... den u can haggle for cheaper prices... not something singaporeans like..anyway, we walked thru.. and bought a big bubble tea at HK12 ($2.20) ... about 1.5 times tat of singapore's bubble tea... but less chemicals inside and more tea... quite nice... and lots of pearls... the picture u see is chopped into half..its longer.... and it started raining.. omg... den we walked around an indoor shopping centre before it stopped raining..thankfully...
