15/11/09 - Yokohama

On the last full day in Japan, Tsian and I travelled down to Yokohama.... Think the trip costs us about 1,000 yen ($16) one way... through their metro transfer to JR line etc... took us about 1 hr to reach... the chinatown is amazingly big...haha.. compared to those in adelaide, london... its quite big... and they sell a wide variety of chinese food... i tink they were selling a big chicken pau wich we can buy here at $5 but they were selling at $17 (1000 yen) ... we settled down at a chinese restaurant for lunch.... a 2,480 yen buffet..... i know its expensive..but the nice decorations attracted us in.... looks nice huh? LOL... the food wise was pretty good... taste like chinese food....haha... u know sometimes chinese food taste weird overseas. lol.. the restaurant was opened by a china person and had full china staff... one staff told us tat... lol... we were speaking mandarin while ordering in english when the staff told us. lol.. but weirdly... tat was the only staff who spoke in mandarin... the rest tried to speak in japanese though they spoke amongst themselves in mandarin... i guess they were scared of being looked down, being a foreign worker in Japan bah...

We walked further and reached the pier... walked around the pier.. cool sea breeze... and den headed for the nearest metro station to shin-yokohama where we visited the ramen museum... darn small... though i had already expected to begin with... but its one of the tourist spots as most singaporean tour agencies would bring you to... so we went in..

tink it costs us 200 yen to get in... and think its recommended that you order a ramen.. i tink u will be tempted anyways... we settled down for a tokyo ramen tat became the worst ramen we ever had for the trip... lol.. and we had mild stomachache after tat... oh no.. we should have gone to the one tat has a longer queue..... they had about 10 ramen shops in the ramen museum.. and you can do it the japanese way... buy a ticket on wich ramen you wan to eat... and show it when you are inside the noodle bar...

That marks the end of my Japan trip... seems like nothing huh.. really... i feel kind of... the last morning was supposed to go to the Tokyo Tower and see the rainbow bridge.. but i simply lost interest in it... Tokyo is too expensive... and i feel the pinch in my wallet.. and worst still, the rainbow bridge has a striking resemblence to that of the bridge i saw ytd at Yokohoma.. do i really want to spend 700 yen to take a photo similar to wad i took ytd??? No bah... Anyway, better to catch the plane back at Tokyo Narita Airport since our flight is at 3pm... left hotel at around 11am... took the JR line back to airport.. tink the cost is about 1,700 yen ($26) one way...

Tokyo city darn boring la.... i tink its better to travel via package tour 7 days Japan... visit Osaka/Mount Fuji/Tokyo all at once... i tink the trip would be much nicer... cos Tokyo city is a old city... just like Kuala Lumpur.... a lot of old old buildings... tat doesnt have much to remember....

Kinda sucky.. didnt expect Tokyo city to be so laidback.... The only interesting thing I learn about Tokyo is that the people are pretty friendly.. but sometimes it doesnt seem to come from the heart.. juz their culture to be friendly.... maybe in their mind... its KNN..CCB... just like wad ris low like to say... And I would say they are pretty clean...despite it being a very old city.. its clean.. people do not throw rubbish anywhere on the streets... though it may take you about 15-20 mins to find a rubbish bin on the streets.. and you have to put rubbish in your pockets... just like taiwan... unlike singapore and hong kong where u can find rubbish bin anywhere...if not ppl anyhow throw liao...
