10/10

Yesterday was Zhenhui's birthday! We walked around Novena area before settling in for dinner. Celebrated his birthday at Old Hong Kong Tea House at Square 2, Novena. We ordered a Dried Longan Tea to drink. The dried longan tea had a nice fragrance but was too sweet.

We ordered a Peking Duck to eat too! When the peking duck arrived, we started taking pictures. Zhenhui said we were kind of like paparazzi... keep on taking pictures... tsian took his camera phone out to take too.. lol.. Guess the 2 staff that served us were kind of stressed cutting our peking duck ... LOL.... they chopped the duck in front of us.. and den wrap it into egg rolls....

The peking duck was great. I guess it was a signature dish of tat restaurant. Comparing with the one we had in Brilliant Garden I would say the standard is about the same. Maybe slightly a little bit higher... @ $20 for half the duck.....

We also ordered a plate of suckling pig and assorted bbq to eat.. the suckling pig's skin was nice... comparable to those big restaurants.. the 3 tier meat (san-chen-rou) was nice too.. especially the skin.... the suckling pig would have been better if they had only displayed the skin to eat and cooked the meat for noodles... LOL... hate the "pig" smell.... haha... spoil the taste i had for tat dish... if its only the skin... i really enjoyed it... char siew soso.. nothing spectacular...

Also ordered a plate of veggie... lol... beancurd with angel luffas... WAH... tat name... lol.... the dish looks very unpresentable i would say... but the taste was good... not too fantastic though... beancurd below.... with some unknown veggie tat wasnt bitter.. i initially thought it was some bittergourd which i hated! a sweeter veggie.... LOL...

The peking duck also came with ee-fu noodles.... Ee-fu noodles... average...

The stewed sea cucumber with mushroom spoiled the meal quite a lot.... there were only 4 sea cucumber.. so obvious.. lol... with some mushroom... tat wasnt really top grade and lots of broccoli....

The salted Hakka Style Chicken didnt have an appealing image ... but when the chicken came.... thee is a nice smell... of SALT! LOL... taste one bit and you realise.. ITS YUMMY... and I enjoyed it.... although i am not a fan of white chicken.. lol.. it tastes completely different from those you can get from the market.. though it has the visionary image... lol.... the chicken would have been better if they didnt have too much of bones.. and more breast meat... wich is my favourite part.... but definitely not the part gourmet likes rite?

LOL.... the best part of the chicken would be the backside! LOL.. given it a gourmet's choice... surprisingly zhenhui likes to eat backsides.. (of a chicken) LOL... he says its the tastiest part of the chicken... believe it or not.. i actually have no idea wich is the backside.. probably have been eating the backside so many times without realising it, huh?

We were chit-chatting after our meal when we saw the table beside.... there's some gas coming out from the dessert.... we enquired with the waitress and said we wanted "THAT THING"... lol... and the waitress told us is it the Mango Puree with Sago served with Ice Cream.. and they also have another flavour which is the avocado cream with ice cream.... }

We ordered 2 Mango and 1 Avocado.. i would say the mango's better... avocado would be better if it is in milkshake form! LOL... the best avocado milkshake i had to date is at the hawker centre stall (last row) opposite Queensway Shopping Centre.... its tasty at 2 dollars only.... and quite rich with milk and avocado taste....

Anyway, I quite enjoyed the dessert with mango... quite nice... the ice cream melts in with the mango and it blends perfectly well! =) with nice decorations huh...

We then proceeded to Chinatown Oriental Plaza for Karaoke.... =) Booked a room for four hours... 2nd time to karaoke for me this year huh? LOL.... havent sang for a long time... i guess my singing has deproved tremendously... havent sang for so long... seriously i need to go K more often! LOL..... Zhenhui as usual sang well... he is better in singing amongst the three of us.... LOL.... and always got a lot of action de... LOL....

Anyway, best thing about Party World is they provide you with gadgets and toys to play while you are in there singing... with all the clap function all tat for their microphone system... we made use of the gadgets at times. LOL... We sang quite a lot of Cantonese and Hokkien songs too, apart from Mandarin and English. Zhenhui and Tsianhwee posing for pictures... LOL....

Had a nice time there.... i loved party world partly because they offer you bubble tea instead of those crappy coke, sprite KBOX has in their free beverage menu. FInd it more quenching after singing so much.... lol...

I guess Zhenhui enjoyed himself a lot at the KTV! LOL... =) Quite high lor he... lol... midway we presented him with a banana holder from Daiso as a present.. with a piece of birthday note inside...to say our wishes and blessings.... lol.. oh no.. and this banana ended up as a nice tool for him to do some camera whoring! LOL....

Enjoyed the day at this NO BUDGET outing... lol.... Took a cab home after our KTV session... Thanks birthday boy for paying the taxi fare.. LOL.... =) Hope he enjoys the day out! =)
