Departed Paris via EuroStar 2nd class ticket! Scary! The ticket costs 150 EURO. Thank god its included in the tour fare we paid. Took few hours to reach London! No snow.... not cold too.... Scam leh... they put 8C but seems like 20C at some places... -_-" .. not cold...start sweating... cos with the 5C sweather..its darn hot!!!!
Anyway, the Europeans loved hot weather and hated winter and the local tour guide kept telling us its the season they go overseas to siam cold weather and we are here to suffer.. lol....
Their shopping centres are like 30C.... they on heaters to warm the shopping centre up.... in singapore its winter 16C at shopping centre.. lol.... if 30C nobody shop liao lah... lol..
Anyway, things in London ended up cheaper than that of Paris! Surprise... they use pennies and pounds... they have things going like 0.99 pounds and all.... milk and chocolates all darn cheap....
We also went to Oxford Street to do some shopping.... Darn Cheap! Cos they are clearing their stock for Christmas.. and we happen to be there on the 22nd and 23rd... the day the 2nd last day they clear their stock.... sport shoes like fila and reebok on sale go like 12 pounds to 15 pounds (X 2.3 times)... cheap lor... and sports apparels going so low.. our family went on 2 day shopping spree... lol... bought cny clothing le.. lol....
The Tower Bridge was nice... quite unique... with the nice view from the Thames River... the London Bridge was kinda ugly... OMG! Should have built something nicer.... the London Eye has a nice spherical shape though shorter than Singapore's.... their places of interest are quite expensive.... so we didnt take the London Eye.... too many people oso.... didnt want to take it....
Visited the Buckingham Palace.... We also saw their guards on horses.... the guards wear purple... instead of red for winter btw... Too bad the changing of guards ceremony was suspended for the day.
London used to have lots of routemasters double deckers.... now replaced by modern buses.. still prefer to see them though... now they only ply on Service 9 and 15. Too bad couldnt get a picture of that!
I guess London is one of the 1st cities with underground trains... its like so 70s.... you know when the train (Tube) is coming.... wind and dust flies around b4 the arrival of the train! LOL... I really pity their elderly .... they have to walk so much to get to the train platform.. its like so deep in... and u need to change 2 - 3 times to get to ur place... they have so many lines!!!
I do adore their love for old things.. the whole city and building looks so much preserved dating back to the early 1900s.... really good part on their job in preservation.. unlike Singapore that doesnt have much preservation of old buildings left.
Had dinner @ Pontis at London Airport. Food rating OK only.
Took A380 flight home from London Heathrow Airport to Singapore Changi Airport! Ended our trip. Nothing much for the A380 ride. Just a little bit more space.
Service was quite bad for the return trip. Didnt offer us much drinks on board. The flight to Frankfurt was better. They kept giving us water to dehydrate... apple juice and all... the flight back.. have to ask them -_-" ...
And they eat away our peanuts... the menu says peanuts at mid flight but they didnt give us at all.... the A380 flight was jerky too.... as we happen to be at the wing.... and you can feel the wing making lots of noises! -_-"
