Chinese New Year 2009

Happy New Year To All! =)

Had a lovely long weekend... Finally I am going to school tml liao... OMG! Just dun feel like going! Haha...

Had Reunion dinner at Ah Mah's house as usual @ Ghim Moh on New Year's eve! Abalone meal.... Haha... Fish maw and all... Traditional steamboat dinner as usual... I kinda like the charcoal steamboat... i dunno why... juz unique...i guess it'll be gone sooner or later...haha... cos quite troublesome...have to keep adding charcoal.. Too bad i didnt bring a camera to snap! And I have been eating this dinner for 22 times! No photos on it!

Haha... Saw my uncles, aunties, cousins and also my 3 nephews.. Collected many angpows on eve... Oh no.. I am feeling so old liao... 3 nephews... WTH! Pls dun call me uncle! OMG! I feel so old liao...




Went around to bai nian as usual on Day 1 .... Went to Mahmah's house @ Toa Payoh for lunch... she cooked curry chicken and braised meat! I liked the ones she made... dunno y my mum never inherit 100% of her recipe! LOL... Haha... Saw my mum's side relatives... some from australia who will be leaving soon after the new year... lol...








Went relative visiting @ Bishan and Ang Mo Kio... den went to visit my relative's turtle and tortoise museum at Chinese Garden! =)

Cool turtles and tortoises.. so many of them.... kinda cool.... alligator snapping turtles, star tortoises.... its actually in the guiness world of records.... lol...

Went to Da-gu's house for dinner at night....





















Chu Er went to catch a movie with my parents... Went to Causeway Point to watch "Alls Well Ends Well 2009".... I think this hong kong movie is one of the funniest out of the 3 bah... i didnt watch Jack's Neo movie yet though... i rate it 8/10. =) Some lame scenes sometimes...but it manages to humour and makes you laugh throughout... as usual, wu jun lu acts like a crazy old hag who is desperate over men.. lol... Should really watch if you have $8 and dunno where to spend it on.... =)




Chu San went out with Zhenhui and Tsianhwee to bai nian... we met at orchard cathay 1st to watch "The Wedding Game".... I find this movie funny too.... although i give it 7/10. =) This movie has lesser suspense than Alls Well Ends Well 2009 but its still quite funny! =) Quite a different view from a lot of other people yeah? LOL... Its abt paparazzi and celebrities glamour's reality vs what people really expect... =)


We had dinner @ Astons Specialities! Quite cheap.... Food was above average? 3 pax bill was $34! No Service charge.....


Staff was extremely blur though... couldnt tell us how much the combo was... he said $2.50 then $3.50 then $4.50 and it ended up is $3.50 ... -_-" ....the waiter who took our order! probably the reason y no service charge? Thankfully we didnt wait long! OMG! =)


Will consider visiting them again if there's no queue! I visited them today cos there's no queue! Usually its packed to the outside....

Went to Zhenhui's house 1st to bai nian... havent gone to his house for around 7 years? LOL... Den went to my house... Weida and pengyong oso came.... to bai nian..




Sian diao.... they shoot me when they see my photos...zzz.... my not overweight photos when i was young.... even sec sch oso not tat fat... and den my house weighing scale... 119kg... ahhhhh... my heaviest friend only weighs 70+ kg... lighest only 50+kg! OH NO! Zhenhui was saying i can crush him easily to death! OMG!



Anyway, the photo kinda suck too... the shirt happen to reveal my stomach...aiyoyo... zzz...



My dad says my resolution this year is to lose weight.... you know when he gave my angpow on Day 1... instead of pu pu gao sheng or xue ye jing bu... he said... jin nian yao jian fei... -_-"...

Went to Pengyong and Weida's house after that...

I really want to JIAN FEI... but as you know i am LAN DUO...

Night Safari

Went to the Night Safari yesterday! Met my cousins at my mahmah's house! =) We went to Upper Thomson Road for Roti Prata! =) The Prata House. Coolz... My 1st time there...

The teh cino was nice! =) I ordered a teh tarik at 1st, but couldnt resist the temptation and ended up ordering a teh cino cos all of them ordered it. LOL... Was thirsty anyways. The roti prata was crispy too... curry sauce nice.... =) overall nice dining experience there..



We went to the Night Safari after tat of cos. Pictures kinda suck cos I do not know how to use night vision for my camera... and its so dark down there...

You cant really use flash.. cos everybody will be looking at you... and its forbidden anyways....


I wish they could have more lighting. Kinda sucks when you can see animals, but you cant snap them. LOL...








Quite disappointing.. The tigers and lions are sleeping like pigs today! Zzzz... The pigs are awake though. I wonder why. I think the phrase should be changed to "As lazy as a tiger / lion" rather than "As lazy as a pig" .... LOL...




Anyway, you really have to walk when you reach there... the exhibits are like so far.... or is it because they make u go around circles?




Anyway, some interesting animals we saw... Wolves, Leopards, Cats, Porcupines, Malayan Orange Tigers (not found in the Singapore Zoo cos now all white tigers)...







I liked the flying squirrels the most. Cos they look so beautiful and they "fly"... I would say it as glide rather... only 400m at most and downwards... but imagine big animals gliding over ur heads.. kinda freaky... haha.. they have wings like tat of bats... =) Interesting!

Oh ya... I changed my settings without knowing.... I just realized it today. I changed it to smaller size picture halfway at Night Safari. =X

Dian Xiao Er & Swensen's

Went out with Tsianhwee on Monday. Wanted to catch Ong Bak 2 @ Causeway Point. I think Cathay screwed me up that day. Newspapers state there is Ong Bak showing but online and counter says dun have.. I reached there early thankfully.. so asked tsianhwee to go Bukit Panjang Plaza instead. So i made a wasteful trip to Woolands for nothing. -_-"



Had a $20 Swensens Voucher from OCBC ... we went swensen's for dinner... ordered my usual - chicken baked rice and sticky chewy chocolate ice cream.. my all time favourite as well as my family's.... i dunno why... swensen's food menu is limited... and i only like these 2 dishes.. haha... so everytime i redeem this $20 swensen's voucher....


Went to catch Ong Bak with Tsian @ Lot 1 instead... $7 for weekday movie.. not tat bad... i tot its $7.50 or $8.... cos i dun have discount card at shaw... Ong Bak's ending sucks big thumb. I didnt really watch Ong Bak den... juz in camp saw a few scenes.... i tink Ong Bak is better...den the sequel.... I tink Chocolate was better... Not really worth catching towards the end..






Went out with Weida to shop for his new year clothing! We met @ Jurong Point... diaoz... y of all places there again... anyway, i happened to be jurong eating lunch with roger and weiqi so i dun mind...haha.... We watched 7 pounds.. darn lame show.... -_-" ... i mean its kinda artistic movie... not those i will really go for... quite tiring to watch this show overall...



We ate Haagen Daz for tea ..cos i have a $10 Haagen Daz voucher from UOB.... Had ice cream..3 scoops...amazing... we topped up a bit.. anyway, ice cream for today was nice... i dunno why.... i used to hate Haagen Daz ... i find it too sweet... perhaps i usually order the wrong flavours.... ordered some chocolate flavour today and it was the type i liked... movenpick type... =) rich in chocolate with a little bit of crumps as you bite! =)








We dine at Dian Xiao Er at night... we went in cos of the Citibank 10% discount.. quite screwed up reason rite? Haha... Bill came to be $55 for 2 after discount... we must be crazy... Anyway, food was nice today... we ordered fish maw seafood soup.. it was nice... =) hey i dun usually eat seafood de okay.. haha.... And their herbal duck wich i liked the sauce.. mapo tofu .... and honey chicken... nice food... great value... =)

And you know what I am saying.. My last few hundred dollars goes in to these few meals... Now left $20 le.... SIM bill came in only today... paying next week.. Probably I will get a $20 voucher from Swensen's soon.... in February or worst to worst March .... =)



Fortune God, please bless me the upcoming $10 million draw. I really need cash to tide over this financial crisis! Crisis cos my savings have depleted over the past year.. Jobless for 6 mths since i left SAF liao... as poor student getting $90 allowance every week.. haha....
